Saracens hammer Newcastle Falcons

Saracens beat Newcastle Falcons 40-3 in their Aviva Premiership clash at Allianz Park.

Saracens have defeated Newcastle Falcons 40-3 in their Aviva Premiership clash.

Phil Godman kicked the visitors into an early lead before Charlie Hodgson scored a try and converted to put the Saracens ahead.

Hodgson extended their advantage five minutes from the end of the half with a penalty to give his side a 10-3 lead.

After the interval Hodgson kicked over two penalties in quick succession, before David Strettle went over in the corner to score the second try of the match, but the former hit the post from his conversion.

Jamie George added a third try of the afternoon for the hosts, with Hodgson again striking the post from his conversion attempt.

Saracens scored their fourth try of the game through Alex Goode to secure the bonus point, and this time Hodgson managed to convert.

In the final minutes, Strettle scored his second try of the game with Goode converting to seal a convincing win for the hosts.
