Gloucester agree to sign lock James Hudson from Newcastle Falcons.

Gloucester Rugby head coach Nigel Davies has revealed that the club have agreed to sign lock James Hudson from Newcastle Falcons.

The 31-year-old, who has also played for London Irish, has been branded "a very shrewd lineout operator" by Davies.

"I'm delighted that James has agreed to join Gloucester. He's a proven Premiership performer and a very shrewd lineout operator," Davies told the club's official website.

"He's also very mobile for a big man, which will suit the way we try and play the game.

"He will also bring experience and leadership qualities to the squad, which will be valuable assets. I'm very much looking forward to him arriving for pre-season."

Davies has captained Newcastle for two seasons.
