Richie McCaw proud of New Zealand triumph

New Zealand captain Richie McCaw expresses his pride after seeing the All Blacks seal a third consecutive Rugby Championship crown by beating Argentina.

New Zealand captain Richie McCaw has expressed his pride after his team clinched a third consecutive Rugby Championship crown by beating Argentina.

The All Blacks lifted the trophy on Saturday as they defeated the Pumas 34-13 in La Plata.

The result has seen the world champions move into an unassailable six-point lead at the top of the standings heading into next weekend's clash with South Africa.

"They were lovely conditions to play in and I'm really proud of the way the guys took their opportunities," McCaw is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "The Pumas came to play as well and I think it was a pretty good match to watch but I'm proud of our guys because we took our chances.

"We defended really well and didn't let them over until the last minutes of the game, that shows the backbone of the team."

New Zealand face the Springboks in Johannesburg on October 4.
