Alex Lewington pens London Irish contract extension

London Irish confirm that winger Alex Lewington has penned a new deal with the Aviva Premiership club.

London Irish winger Alex Lewington has signed a new contract with the club.

The 23-year-old has scored 21 tries for the Exiles since arriving at the Madejski Stadium from Leicester Tigers in 2013, touching down 12 times during the 2014-15 Aviva Premiership campaign.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my two seasons at London Irish and seeing the investment that has gone into the club both on infrastructure and players, the direction and ambition of the club is clear to see. My game has really moved on and I am keen to continue that progression this season," he told the club's official website.

London Irish start the new season at home to Leicester Tigers on October 18.
