Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill insists that Tom Croft's recent back injury is not serious.

Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill has denied claims that Tom Croft will be out of action for a number of weeks with a back injury.

The England flanker, who was making just his second start in eight months following a serious shoulder injury, picked up the knock in Saturday's LV= Cup win over the London Wasps.

Cockerill told BBC Sport: "He had a bang to the ribs but he's OK. It just stiffened up a bit and he couldn't continue. Hopefully in a week he will be fit and raring to go."

Croft previously admitted his 'shock' at being recalled to the England squad for the Six Nations.
