Bath given permission to extend Recreation Ground capacity

Premiership side Bath confirm they have been given permission to extend the capacity of the Recreation Ground to 14,000 for the next two seasons.

Aviva Premiership side Bath have been given the go-ahead to increase the capacity of the Recreation Ground to 14,000 for the next two seasons.

The expansion, which has been approved by the council, comes as the club look to increase attendances and celebrate their 150th anniversary next season.

"This extra capacity will allow more people to get closer to the action during a landmark year in our history," said Bath chief executive Nick Blofeld.

Bath finished fifth in last season's Premiership and qualified for the European Rugby Champions Cup this year.
