Danny McGuire: 'Leeds Rhinos deserve Grand Final place'

Leeds Rhinos stand-off Danny McGuire believes that his side deserve their place in the Super League Grand Final, and says that his team can complete the treble.

Leeds Rhinos stand-off Danny McGuire has suggested that his side deserve to be in the Super League Grand Final after defeating St Helens 20-13 in their playoff semi-final on Friday.

McGuire's side finished the season top of the Super League, adding the League Leader's Shield to their Challenge Cup success in August, and the 32-year-old believes that his side can win the treble this year.

"It's been a long old slog, from starting out in February at Hull KR, and I think we've deserved it," McGuire told reporters after the match. "Sometimes it's about scrapping for every inch and we managed to find a way to win against Saints.

"There is that desire within the team to be successful. We've got some guys whose careers are coming to an end and we wanted to give them another chance.

"We've got that character within our team. We don't like losing, we just keep going for it. It's served us well over the year and we'll keep that going next week."

The Rhinos will take on Wigan Warriors in the Grand Final at Old Trafford on Saturday, October 10.
