The Tottenham Hotspur fan stabbed by hooligans in Italy has insisted that his ordeal will not stop him from attending matches in the future.

A Tottenham Hotspur supporter who was stabbed by a mob in Italy while supporting the North London outfit has insisted that he will continue attending matches.

Ashley Mills has returned to his hometown of Brentwood, Essex after he was stabbed in Rome ahead of a Europa League clash between Tottenham and Lazio a fortnight ago.

"Everyone was brilliant," Mills told the London Evening Standard. "They helped me out a lot. Obviously there was a language barrier. Everyone did all they could to make it easier for me so I was very grateful."

When asked if he would go to fewer games in the future, Mills said: "No, not at all. I still love football and I am still going to go to as many games as I can."

Mills was treated in San Camillo hospital in Rome following the attack.
