Ex-Torquay United boss Martin Ling reveals battle with depression

Former Torquay United manager Martin Ling reveals that the LMA paid for his treatment last year in a bid to help him deal with depression.

Former Torquay United manager Martin Ling has revealed that he spent time at The Priory clinic in a bid to deal with depression.

The 47-year-old has claimed that the League Managers' Association paid for his treatment in 2013 after putting him in touch with an independent therapist.

"I wasn't the first person to have been put through that system," the Daily Star quotes Ling as saying. "The LMA knew the avenues to send me down.

"When I spoke to the therapist, I put two and two together and knew that there had been previous people."

Ling was sacked by Torquay last year in April.
