IOC to look into Yelena Isinbayeva comments

Jacques Rogge says that the IOC are considering action against Russian pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva following comments she made during last month's World Championships in Moscow.

International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge has said that Yelena Isinbayeva could face reprimand for comments made during last month's World Championships in Moscow.

The Russian pole vault world champion, who is an ambassador for the Youth Olympics, was critical of athletes protesting against her country's strict laws on homosexuality.

British heptathlete Louise Hazel is one of many calling for the IOC to strip the 28-year-old of her ambassadorial role and, when questioned on the matter, Rogge told reporters: "We will consider this in due time."

Isinbayeva won Olympic gold in Athens and Beijing.
