British boxer Jerome Wilson out of medically-induced coma following brain op

Jerome Wilson's promoter Dave Coldwell confirms that the British boxer has come out of a medically-induced coma.

British boxer Jerome Wilson is out of a medically-induced coma after suffering a head injury earlier this month.

The 29-year-old underwent an operation on his brain after getting knocked out by Serge Ambomo on September 12.

Promoter Dave Coldwell told BBC Radio Sheffield: "He's made unbelievable progress these last three or four days. He is out of the coma and each day he seems to be getting stronger."

The sportsman's promoter confirmed that Wilson is being described as 'high dependency' after being taken off the critical list.
