Former football manager Ron Atkinson is warned after making an anti-Muslim joke while on Celebrity Big Brother.

Former Manchester United manager Ron Atkinson has sparked a fresh race row after he made an anti-Muslim joke while in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

The 74-year-old, who entered the house for the 12th series of the reality show last week, has been given an official warning following his comments.

After fellow contestant Danielle Marr fashioned a headscarf with her jumper, Atkinson said: "You're not carrying a bomb with you, are you?"

This is not the first time that the former football manager has been involved in a race row. Atkinson was sacked from his punditry role in 2004 for calling Chelsea star Marcel Desailly a "n****r" on live television.
