Sam Johnstone's Mercedes 'stolen while goalkeeper was away with Man United'

Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone reportedly discovers that his Mercedes has been stolen upon returning from Belgium with his teammates.

A Mercedes belonging to Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone was reportedly stolen while the player was with his teammates in Belgium.

The 22-year-old was among the substitutes for United's 4-0 victory over Club Brugge in Wednesday's Champions League qualifier.

According to the Daily Star, Johnstone's £40,000 car was swiped from his home, with police believing that the thieves planned the robbery for when they knew that the footballer would be away.

"Enquiries are ongoing to trace the offenders," the publication quotes the authorities as saying.

Johnstone has been at Old Trafford for his entire career so far.
