Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling reveals that it wasn't "nice" to go through an assault case, which was eventually dismissed.

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has admitted that going through a recent assault case wasn't "nice" to deal with.

The 18-year-old was accused of assaulting a 27-year-old woman in Toxteth last year, but the case was dismissed after the prosecution failed to present evidence.

"For a young lad, having stuff like that hanging over your head is not nice," Sterling told Sky Sports News. "When you know that you're innocent and just as your profile's getting bigger, people are just trying to pick on you. You just have to clear your head and know your justice will come in the end."

Meanwhile, the teen has stated that Liverpool can challenge for a top-four finish next season.
