Jamaica's bobsleigh equipment handled by security?

The luggage of the Jamaican bobsleigh team was tampered with by security officials, according to pilot Winston Watts.

Winston Watts has said that he and his Jamaican bobsleigh teammates received their kit around midnight on Thursday.

The Jamaican team could not train on Wednesday as their luggage arrived late in Russia for the Winter Olympics.

However, Watts believes that their equipment had been tampered with, and admits that they did not realise it until they got on track for the first of two runs at the Sanki Sliding Centre on Thursday.

"Security went through them," the NYDailyNews.com quotes him as saying. "I don't know who, but the lids were open.

"I didn't look at my bags last night and all of the stuff was all over my stuff. Protein. They take the seal off and open. They may think there was something else in there."

The opening ceremony of the Sochi Games will take place on Friday.
