Ipswich Town fan dies after Blackpool match

Michael Kemp is confirmed as the Ipswich Town fan who died shortly after the 3-2 victory away at Blackpool.

It has been confirmed that an Ipswich Town supporter died shortly after his side's 3-2 defeat away at Blackpool on Saturday afternoon.

Michael Kemp, believed to be in his 50s, fell ill shortly after he had left Bloomfield Road and passed away soon after.

"As we scored the winning goal I looked up in to the stand and the first person I picked out was Kempy celebrating, a big smile on his face just like so many times before," said Liz Edwards, a fellow fan.

"I cannot believe what happened so shortly afterwards. A loyal Town fan home and away, who also loved following the Academy. I shall miss my football chats with him and seeing him at games."

As yet, no cause of death has been revealed.
