Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly been detained by the FBI in the United States.

Reports relating to the Russian tycoon emerged this afternoon via news channel Russia Today, claiming that officials have taken Abramovich in for questioning.

While neither confirmation nor details of the alleged incident have come to light, it is understood that Chelsea have refused to comment on the reports, according to The Times.

The 46-year-old was accused in 2008 of a breach of trust and contract by his former business partner Boris Berezovsky, who was found dead at his home on Saturday.
