French channel drops Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger from commentary team

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will no longer be part of French channel TF1's commentary team after they decided not to renew his contract.

French television channel TF1 has decided not to renew the contract of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger as one of its match commentators.

The Frenchman has been part of the network's commentary team for more than 10 years, featuring prominently during France's internationals, as well as Champions League fixtures and this summer's World Cup in Brazil.

However, the French media reports that it was decided not to renew the 64-year-old's contract, with newspaper Le Parisien claiming that the move has surprised Wenger.

Wenger was not involved in the channel's broadcast of France's 1-0 win over Spain in a friendly last night.
