Yamaha's Valentino Rossi wins dramatic Argentina MotoGP

Yamaha's Valentino Rossi wins the Argentina MotoGP race after Marc Marquez crashes in the final lap.

Yamaha's Valentino Rossi won the Argentina MotoGP race in dramatic fashion by pipping reigning champion Marc Marquez.

The 36-year-old fought his way into contention by coming from eighth in the field on the opening lap.

He was able to cross the finish line first after Marquez clipped the rear of Rossi's Yamaha and crashed in the gravel.

"It is a shame that he crashed, but for me I think he did a mistake," crash.net quotes Rossi as saying. "Marc is a rider that always bets all-or-nothing.

"I knew from practice that I had the pace and the extra motivation is when you see the guy in front is in difficulty and you have the extra-hard tyre. So lap-by-lap he is more in difficulty."

Rossi's win was his 110th grand prix victory.
