Miguel Angel Jimenez pleased with hole-in-one record

Miguel Angel Jimenez is pleased to break the record for European Tour hole-in-ones after an ace at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

Miguel Angel Jimenez has said that he is pleased to have broken the record for most hole-in-ones on the European Tour.

The Spaniard's hole-in-one in last week's Spanish Open put him level with Colin Montgomerie on nine in his career, and he added another ace at the par-three second hole at Wentworth on Saturday.

"It's very prolific this year, the last few months," Jimenez told Sky Sports News. "First Abu Dhabi, then in Spain last week and now here. I've also holed out a couple of times from the fairway, that means my irons are like darts.

"You get the right distance, the right club, hit a good shot and that's the ingredients you need to make a hole-in-one. It's nice to have the record.

"I was very, very close at 14 on Thursday, but you need the challenge. You have the distance, you have good shots and the strongest part of my game is with my irons."

Jimenez is currently fifth at the BMW PGA Championship, four strokes behind leaders An Byeong-hung and Francesco Molinari.
