Everton legend Ian Snodin says that Mark Webber should have punched Sebastian Vettel after the German ignored direct orders from Red Bull and beat his teammate in the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Everton legend Ian Snodin believes that Mark Webber would have loved to have "stuck a right hook" on Sebastian Vettel after the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Vettel ignored direct orders not to surpass his Red Bull teammate in Sunday's race to claim his first win this season.

However, F1 fan Snodin has said that Webber could be forgiven for wanting to punch his teammate in the aftermath of the event.

"I'm sure Vettel will regret what's happened when he's older and wiser," Snodin wrote in his Liverpool Echo column.

"And maybe Webber might forgive him when he calms down, but for the time being I bet the Aussie would love to get his so called 'teammate' to one side, away from the TV cameras and stick a right hook on his chin."

Webber eventually finished runner-up to the German.
