Nico Rosberg fastest again despite second practice scare at Belgian Grand Prix

Nico Rosberg sets the fastest time of second practice at the Belgian Grand Prix before suffering a tyre blowout at high speed.

Nico Rosberg's Mercedes suffered a scary puncture at high speed during second practice for the Belgian Grand Prix, but he still managed to complete a Friday practice double by going fastest at Spa.

The German posted a time of 1:49.385 to again pip teammate and world championship leader Lewis Hamilton after edging him out earlier today.

Rosberg's tyre appeared to slowly disintegrate during a lap before it blew out and caused the Mercedes man to spin at high speed. Fortunately, he avoided any contact with fellow drivers or the barriers.

The Red Bulls of Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat couldn't match the Mercedes by going under 110 seconds, but they did manage the third and fourth-best times.

Further back, McLaren's troubles seemingly haven't been fixed during the summer break as only the Marussias were slower than Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso.
