Lotus have lost their protest against Mercedes' controversial rear wing after the FIA dismissed the team's official complaint.
News emerged earlier today that the UK-based team had lodged a protest against the W-duct wing to the governing body.
Despite the Formula 1 team's attempts, FIA have decided to reject their issue and allow Mercedes to keep the rear wing design.
It had been expected that FIA would favour Mercedes following the organisation's two previous instances of allowing the wing to be used.
It has also emerged that Lotus will not appeal the decision.
