Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed Newport County's young midfielder Lee Evans for an undisclosed fee.

The 18-year-old is the Welsh Under-18 captain and will become a part of the Wolves youth team.

"I had been aware of a few clubs that were looking from reading the local press back home," Sky Sports News quotes Evans as saying.

"As soon as I knew Wolves were interested I just wanted to get here as quickly as I could. The facilities are superb here and it is a great opportunity for me."

Evans has made 25 appearances for the Conference side.
