Slaven Bilic frustrated by West Ham's draw with Stoke City

Slaven Bilic praises his West Ham United side but admits his frustration that they were not able to score in the 0-0 draw with Stoke City.

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has admitted his frustration after his side were unable to take all three points in the 0-0 draw with Stoke City on Saturday.

The Hammers had 22 shots in the match but goalkeepers Adrian and Jack Butland were both in fine form to keep out chances at either end as Bilic's side saw their winless run extended to six matches since October 24.

The Croatian said that he was pleased with the performance of his side but bemoaned their inability to beat Butland and turn a draw into what would have been just a third home league win of the season.

"It was a good game of football, quite an open game," he told reporters. "Both teams created chances to win. The moment at the end [when Stoke cleared off the line twice] could change the season.

"It would have been great if the ball went in and we created enough to win the game, [but] they had a few great chances too. We hit the post twice and they did once. I am not happy with the result but it was a fair result.

"Considering the effort that we put in I cannot be unhappy with my team. I am pleased with my team. In every game I am never happy with a point before the game but I cannot be happier with our spirit and togetherness and resilience and, at times, our quality."

The draw leaves the Hammers in eighth in the Premier League table after 16 games.
