SM Football Shorts: How is the Premier League relegation battle shaping up?

With the return of Premier League football drawing closer, Sports Mole looks at how the relegation battle is shaping up ahead of a crucial finale to the season.

Weekends without Premier League football will soon become a thing of the past once again as the English top flight continues to gear up for it's long-awaited and much-anticipated return.

The action will resume after a break of more than three months on Wednesday, with matters at the bottom of the table particularly tight heading into the closing stages of a prolonged campaign.

Just two points separate 15th place from 18th, with West Ham United, Watford and Bournemouth all level on points and the latter currently the wrong side of the dotted line.

Aston Villa are still in the mix with the benefit of a game in hand too, while Norwich City also still have hope despite being six points adrift of safety.

Listen below as Sports Mole Editor Barney Corkhill and Football Editor Matt Law discuss how the relegation battle looks ahead of the season resuming.
