Blackburn Rovers close on Simon Cox?

West Bromwich Albion striker Simon Cox emerges as a reported transfer target for Blackburn Rovers.

The 25-year-old started just seven league games for the Baggies last season, and he has been linked with a host of Championship clubs.

According to the Daily Mail, Rovers boss Steve Kean has prepared a £2.5m bid for the Irishman and a deal could be completed this week.

Cox has scored 10 Premier League goals for West Brom.
