Tony Pulis: "Saido Berahino can be a top-class player"

Saido Berahino can become a "top-class player", claims Tony Pulis after watching the striker score the only goal in West Bromwich Albion's win over Southampton.

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis believes that Saido Berahino can become a "top-class player" after seeing the striker net the winner in his side's 1-0 victory over Southampton.

Berahino struck after just two minutes at The Hawthorns to earn all three points for the Baggies and lift them up to 13th in the Premier League table.

""It was a goal that top, top-class players score and Berahino could be a top, top-class player. Since I came into club there has be no doubt about his ability, he just needs direction," Pulis told BBC Sport.

"He put himself in good positions. He has that ability to play someone in or score."

Berahino, who has scored 10 goals in 13 appearances for England Under-21s, has netted 11 times in the Premier League this season.
