Jonny Evans reinstated as West Bromwich Albion captain

West Bromwich Albion head coach Alan Pardew confirms that defender Jonny Evans has been reinstated as captain ahead of the Premier League fixture with Huddersfield Town.

West Bromwich Albion head coach Alan Pardew has said that he is looking to "move on" from an incident which took place in Barcelona earlier this month.

During a training camp, Jonny Evans, Gareth Barry, Jake Livermore and Boaz Myhill broke curfew and stole a taxi during the early hours of the morning, before it was later returned to the owner.

The quartet apologised for their role in the incident but Evans was stripped of the captaincy for the club's FA Cup fifth-round tie with Southampton last weekend, a game which the Baggies lost 2-1.

However, ahead of the encounter with Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon, Pardew has revealed that Evans would be given the armband after all four players were disciplined by the club.

At a press conference, the 56-year-old told reporters: "The disciplinary side of things is finished with, as far as I am concerned.

"The four have all been disciplined by the disciplinary board here. There's a little board which gets together and decides that. We move on, hopefully, as best we can."

West Brom currently sit bottom of the Premier League table.
