Wellington Phoenix come back from the dead at Newcastle Jets

Wellington Phoenix net three times in five minutes to take all three points in their A-League clash with Newcastle Jets.

Wellington Phoenix scored three goals in five minutes to turn their game with Newcastle Jets on its head and leave New South Wales with all three points.

The visitors got off to a bad start and were punished on 23 minutes when Joel Griffiths finished off a nice move with a tap-in to give Newcastle the lead.

Jets kept the lead going into the break, and managed to keep it until the 73rd minute when Phoenix dealt them a triple blow, starting with Nathan Burns rounding the goalkeeper to level the game at 1-1.

Moments later Roly Bonevacia smashed a shot against the post that rebounded invitingly for Michael McGlinchey who only had to tap home to give his side the advantage.

The quick-fire comeback was complete when Roy Krishna decided to let fly from 25 yards, finding the top corner of the Jets net and ensuring all three points for Wellington, who remain within touching distance of the A-League pace setters.
