Safet Susic: 'Gareth Bale won't receive rough treatment'

Manager Safet Susic insists that Bosnia-Herzegovina will not be giving Real Madrid star Gareth Bale any "rough treatment" when they meet Wales on Friday.

Manager Safet Susic has claimed that Bosnia-Herzegovina will not be targeting Gareth Bale with "rough treatment" when they meet Wales on Friday evening.

Real Madrid's Bale will be expected to play a leading role for Wales in the Euro 2016 qualifier in Cardiff, but Susic has no intention of asking one of his players to enter into a physical battle with the winger.

"There won't be special tasks in the squad," Susic told reporters in his pre-match press conference. "We came as a team to play and take three points in a sportsmanlike fashion.

"There won't be any rough treatment or any rough kind of play.

"I do respect Gareth Bale as a great player and the most dangerous player from Wales. Of course he wants space to run freely but I won't sacrifice any player to run after him for 90 minutes."

Chris Coleman recently called for strong officiating ahead of the game in the Welsh capital as he anticipates an aggressive approach to Bale by the opposition.
