Gareth Bale: 'Chris Coleman has restored pride to Wales'

Wales and Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale hails Dragons manager Chris Coleman for restoring Welsh football's "passion and pride" by leading the national side to Euro 2016.

Wales and Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has praised Chris Coleman for restoring Welsh football's "passion and pride" by leading the Dragons to Euro 2016.

Wales won six of their qualifying games to reach their first major tournament since 1958, with Bale netting seven of his side's 11 goals along the way.

The 26-year-old told BBC Sport: "[Coleman has] been amazing. All the players love him. I think he's created such a great atmosphere in the camp.

"He's been incredible. He's really brought that passion and pride back for Wales. Even just at lunchtimes and meetings there's always that bit of banter.

"He's a great person to have around as well as being your manager. We respect him as a manager and a man as well."

Wales will be one of the lowest-seeded teams in France, with Northern Ireland, Albania and Iceland, plus two other teams to be decided by the playoffs, also in Pot 4.
