Good morning all, it's been a busy transfer window so far, with Romelu Lukaku the latest subject of a big money move following his switch from Chelsea to Everton yesterday. Check back here often for the latest updates.

Some interesting news emerged overnight, as Brazilian legend Ronaldinho revealed that he is not preparing to quit football after his contract with Atletico Mineiro was terminated by mutual consent. Queen's Park Rangers have been linked with his signature, but where will he end up?

You can read more gossip and done deals in our 8am Transfer Talk Update.

Despite bringing in the likes of Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Emre Can, Lazar Markovic, Dejan Lovren and Divock Origi, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been talking up his team's transfer business, insisting that he is still keen on improving his squad.

Meanwhile, Everton's new signing, Muhamed Besic, has said that he can play anywhere on the pitch for Roberto Martinez's team following his £4m move to the Toffees from Ferencvaros earlier this week.

One for Manchester United fans now, as El Mercurio report that Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has passed a medical with United ahead of a move to Old Trafford.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani has been discussing his future with L'Equipe, and it's disappointing news as far as Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are concerned. He says he is "certain" he will stay at the club, emphatically ruling out a move away from Ligue 1.

Inter Milan president Erik Thohir has said that the club are locked in talks with Cardiff City over midfielder Gary Medel but are yet to agree a deal with the Welsh club. Cardiff have insisted that they do not want to sell the Chilean for less than the £11m he cost them last summer.

Back in the Premier League, Swansea City captain Ashley Williams has weighed in on the rumours surrounding teammate Wilfried Bony's future, saying that it is "very important" that the club keep the Ivorian if they are to remain competitive. Bony scored 25 goals in all competitions last season and has attracted interest from Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has given a pretty clear indication of where he'd like to be playing next season, after telling reporters that he is "happy" to be linked with Inter Milan. The Mexican fell behind Robin Van Persie, Danny Welbeck and Wayne Rooney in the Old Trafford pecking order last season.

And with that, my stint on Transfer Talk comes to an end. My duties will be taken over by Paul Gorst. Over to you, Paul!

Thanks Benjamin!Phil Jagielka has been explaining how the Everton squad convinced Romelu Lukaku to join the club on a permanent basis. The Belgium international striker completed a club-record £28m switch from Chelsea on Wednesday. We'll have that full story to you soon.

Before we get to that story on Phil Jagielka, Romelu Lukaku has been speaking further about his move, and he said that he harbours "no hard feelings" towards Chelsea, following the move. Full story here.

1pm brings us the latest batch of transfer rumours doing the rounds. Catch today's here featuring the likes of Arturo Vidal, Javier Hernandez and Edinson Cavani.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has stated his plans to review Loic Remy's situation at Queens Park Rangers. The France international spent a successful season on loan last term at St James' Park, and appeared to be on the brink of a move to Liverpool, until the deal fell through on Sunday. We'll have that story in full.

Ex-Everton forward Graham Stuart has praised Roberto Martinez and Bill Kenwright for getting the Romelu Lukaku deal over the line. The full story is here.

Also, we'll have something from Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese coach has claimed that Fernando Torres won't be sold this summer. So that's Pardew and Mourinho on the future of strikers to come!

As promised, here is that Alan Pardew story on Loic Remy in full.

Here's more on Jose Mourinho's insistence that Fernando Torres won't be sold by Chelsea. Full story is here.

Well, that's all from me, I'll leave you in the capable hands of Daniel Lewis who will guide you through to later this evening. Stay tuned for more transfer news.

Thanks Paul. We've got some transfer news concerning Tottenham Hotspur and Ipswich Town fans coming up shortly, but first to Woverhampton Wanderers. The Championship club's manager Kenny Jackett has revealed that contract talks with key players such as defender Sam Ricketts have been put on hold.

As promised, there's some good news for Tottenham supporters this hour as full-back Danny Rose signs a new five-year deal at the club. The 24-year-old has committed his future to the North London outfit to end speculation linking him with a move away this summer.

DONE DEAL! Chelsea winger Gael Kakuta will spend more time away from Stamford Bridge next season after joining Rayo Vallecano on a season-long loan. Having joined the Blues in 2007, he will have spent four-and-a-half years on loan at various clubs by the end of this latest stint.

TRANSFER UPDATE! Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has been a busy man today. With just over a week to go until the Championship season gets underway, the Tractor Boys have completed a double signing - one player even has a stint at Borussia Dortmund on his CV. Check out who this duo are by clicking here.

One of the ongoing transfer sagas of this current transfer window concerns Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin. The midfielder has been linked to both Arsenal and Tottenham this summer, but despite talk that he had handed in a transfer request earlier this week, he today reportedly returned to training with the club.

Another will-he-wont-he now - Marouane Fellaini's proposed move to Napoli. Reports earlier this week claimed that talks had broken down between the Italian club and Manchester United, but Napoli's president has this afternoon confirmed that the midfielder is still very much one of their targets.

Well we've heard on one potential outbound player at Old Trafford, but one that was rumoured to be coming into the club, Stefan de Vrij, opted instead to join Lazio yesterday. At his official unveiling today, the centre-back revealed that United did not contact him with regards to a move.

Sticking with Manchester United - it's been a busy afternoon at Old Trafford in terms of news! - former player Gerard Pique has backed Louis van Gaal to succeed as manager of the Red Devils this season. Van Gaal has previously stated that he needs to recruit more players this summer; presumably a defender or two - if only Pique was available, eh?

There's plenty of transfer activity going on in Italy at the moment; Sports Mole's Alex Myers has conveniently rounded it all up in one place.

Before I hand proceedings over to Shane Callaghan, there's time to bring you SM's 7pm Transfer Talk Update, which rounds up all the evening's transfer news and gossip from the world of football.

Why thank you Daniel. I'll kick off my four-hour stint with the news that Leyton Orient have sealed the signing of ex-Arsenal striker Jay Simpson on a one-year deal. More on this here.

Here's the latest twist in what has swiftly developed into Europe's transfer saga of the summer as Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri claims that Arturo Vidal is NOT on the market. Click here for more on this.

Liverpool fans may want to avert their eyes now as their favourite flop Iago Aspas tells Sevilla's Alberto Moreno NOT to join the Anfield club this summer. Something tells me that Aspas, who is at Sevilla on a season-long loan from the Reds, will not be welcomed back with open arms. Click here for the story.

Patrice Evra was unveiled at Juventus this afternoon, but the Frenchman claims that if Louis van Gaal had his way he would still be at Old Trafford. Read more of that in here!

BREAKING: Tottenham confirm that they have agreed a deal with Sporting Lisbon to sign defender Eric Dier. More in here.

It hasn't been the greatest of nights for Scottish or English sides in the Europa League, my friends. Click here to read our reports as Aberdeen and St Johnstone both lost, while Hull City could only manage a goalless draw in their European competition debut.

What's that I hair? It's the sound of Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirming an interest in signing Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini because of his barnet! Well, not quite the only reason, but you can find more in here.

DONE DEAL: West Ham United seal the signing of Arsenal right-back Carl Jenkinson on a season-long loan. Check out the fully story here.

Well, that's about it from me tonight ladies and gentlemen. We've had a fair bit of gossip and signings, and Mark Langshaw will keep you informed of anything else that the rumour-mill churns out. Bye for now!

Thanks, Shane! Good evening, folks, I'll be bringing you all of the latest rumblings in the transfer market until 2am, starting with comments from Juan Quintero's agent about Arsenal's rumoured interest in the Colombian.

As promised, the agent of Porto's Juan Quintero has downplayed reports linking the Colombian international with a move abroad. The midfielder has been linked with Arsenal and was rumoured to be on the verge of flying to London to open talks with the Gunners.

Rumours that Petr Cech is heading for the Chelsea exit have intensified following comments by Blues boss Jose Mourinho, who lavished praise on both of his other goalkeepers. Thibaut Courtois is expected to be first choice next season, with Mark Schwarzer warming the bench. Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco are both said to be courting Cech.

Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen is said be ready for crunch talks with manager Arsene Wenger to resolve his future, amid reports linking him with a move to Manchester United. Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny are the Gunners' preferred defensive pairing and it remains to be seen whether Vermaelen will be happy with limited game time.

DONE DEAL: Malaga have snapped up Mexico World Cup goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa on a free transfer. He will succeed Willy Caballero, who left Spain for Manchester City earlier this summer, between the sticks.

Former Aston Villa defender Olof Mellberg has announced his retirement from professional football following the expiration of his contract with FC Copenhagen. Mellberg enjoyed an extensive career, also naming AIK Stockholm, Olympiakos, Racing Santander, Juventus, and Villarreal among his former clubs and earning 117 caps for Sweden.

And it's time for me to retire for the evening, too. Many thanks for joining us tonight. Be sure to check back tomorrow for live transfer talk throughout the day, as well as extensive coverage of the Commonwealth Games. Goodnight all!
