Good morning everyone! It's another day of transfer watch, but there aren't many more left! Just seven days remain for clubs to finalise their business for another season. Will Wilfried Bony's £28m move to Manchester City be the most expensive move of the window, or will someone else blow them out of the water? Rest assured, we'll let you know all the latest as it happens.

As mentioned last night, Arsenal are on the verge of completing a major signing in the form of defender Gabriel Paulista from Villarreal. Some reports have claimed that the Gunners will pay a fee in the region of £11m, while some news outlets have claimed £15m. It's all speculation at this point, but the 24-year-old is expected to finalise his switch to the Emirates today.

Before we delve into today's transfer gossip, there were plenty of stories overnight making the gossip pages. Juan Cuadrado, Douglas Costa and Memphis Depay are among the names mentioned to possibly be on the move this month. Catch up with all the stories in our morning Transfer Talk Update.

If you were following our live blog yesterday, you would have seen the story that contract talks between Raheem Sterling and Liverpool officials have reportedly stalled again. This news is believed to have attracted the interest of Chelsea, who are reportedly monitoring the situation and could launch a bid should Sterling decide to look elsewhere.

That's all from me this morning, but I shall hand you over to Steven Toplis, who will keep you updated over the next few hours. Enjoy!

Thanks Danielle, morning everyone. West Bromwich Albion could soon be adding a new face to their squad in the form of Callum McManaman. A report claims that the Wigan Athletic man is close to moving to the West Midlands for £4.5m.

Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Villarreal's Gabriel Paulista, but could they add another defender to their ranks during this transfer window? The Gunners are reportedly interested in Daniele Rugani, who currently plays for Serie A side Empoli.

There's been another departure from Cardiff City this morning, as the Championship side continue to reduce their hefty wage bill. Austrian midfielder Guido Burgstaller, who joined the Bluebirds last May, has cancelled his contract with the club by mutual consent.

Liverpool are reportedly confident of signing an England international on a free transfer during the summer. Click here to find out who it is.

Staying with Liverpool and Mario Balotelli's situation. Reports have suggested that the Italy striker could be on his way out of Anfield after failing to make an impact at the club. However, manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that the frontman still has a future on Merseyside.

Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Dorus de Vries could earn himself a new deal, according to manager Stuart Pearce. The former Swansea City player has been in good form of late, and Pearce says that a contract extension is a possibility if that form continues.

Staying in the Championship now, where Millwall are said to be close to adding a new face to their squad. According to a report, the Lions are on the verge of signing Southampton defender Jos Hooiveld on loan.

A host of clubs have shown an interest in Robert Huth since Mark Hughes said that he was free to leave Stoke City this month. Cardiff City are the latest side to be linked with the German centre-back and it is reported that they will make an approach to sign him.

That brings an end to my stint on the blog for today, but Jack Prescott is here to keep you informed of all the latest transfer gossip this afternoon.

Hello there! Right, let's start the afternoon with some interesting gossip involving Manchester United, who could reportedly face competition from Real Madrid in their supposed pursuit of Athletic Bilbao centre-back Aymeric Laporte. Recent speculation had suggested that Louis van Gaal was eager to bolster his defensive ranks at Old Trafford by signing the 20-year-old, although any deal would not be concluded until the summer.

Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that the club are close to securing the loan services of Cardiff City striker Adam Le Fondre. The 28-year-old has struggled for form this season, having scored only three goals in 25 outings for the Bluebirds.

Fiorentina have announced that they have re-signed Alberto Gilardino from Guangzhou Evergrande on loan until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent. The 32-year-old striker moved to Guangzhou from Genoa in July, but he has now returned to Serie A after just five months in China.

Wigan Athletic have signed Aston Villa midfielder Chris Herd on loan for the rest of the season. The 25-year-old Australian has struggled for appearances at Villa Park this term, playing just three games in all competitions.

Bradford City have completed the permanent signing of Andy Halliday from Middlesbrough. The 23-year-old curled home Bradford's vital third goal on Saturday as the Bantams came from two goals down to cause one of the biggest shocks in FA Cup history at Premier League leaders Chelsea.

That's all from me for now, but Liam Apicella will be taking over the reins to keep you up to date with the latest news and gossip from the January transfer window.

Staying on the continent but switching East to Spain, Valencia have handed a new contract to 19-year-old left-back Jose Gaya. Arsenal had previously been linked with the defender.

Change of plan. Jack Prescott is back to keep you abreast of the latest news until 7pm. He's way better than me anyway. JP...

Hello again! A bit of gossip from the continent now, with Paco Alcacer reportedly close to signing a new long-term deal with Valencia. The Spanish international's exploits this season have led to a host of speculation surrounding his future at the Mestalla.

Former Everton midfielder Tim Cahill has reportedly held discussions with United Arab Emirates-based outfit Al Wahda. It has been suggested that the talks have been taking place during the ongoing Asian Cup.

That's all from me for tonight, but Alex Meyers will now be in charge to keep you up to date with all of the latest news and gossip coming out of the January transfer window. Enjoy!

Leeds United have already loaned Sol Bamba from Palmero this week and they have now brought in another player from the Italian club. This time it's Frenchman Granddi Ngoyi who has joined on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

We've got some more big news concerning an Italian club this evening. It has been announced that Parma and Antonio Cassano have parted ways, due to a dispute over unpaid wages.

Brazilian forward Luiz Adriano has claimed that he will only leave Shakhtar Donetsk if there is an offer that is good for himself and the club. He has been strongly linked with a move to Roma, after scoring nine goals in the group stages of the Champions League this season.

Well, my time on the blog for today has come to an end. I will now leave you in the hands of Shane Callaghan, who will be bringing you the breaking transfer stories for the next few hours.

Thanks mate. Good evening ladies and gents. This is either good news or terrible news depending on which side of the fence you sit, but Mario Balotelli's agent has said that the Italian is happy to stay at Liverpool. More on this in here.

As soon man looks poised to stay at Liverpool, here's one who admits that he could leave! Who is it?

Just one more transfer story on the agenda before we close our doors for, hmm, five hours. And we're going continental as Iker Casillas reveals that he wouldn't mind playing in the MLS.
