Torquay United are handed a trip to Gateshead on the opening day of the Conference Premier.

Torquay United will begin life in the Conference Premier with a long trip to last season's playoff runners-up Gateshead.

The Gulls suffered relegation to non-league football after finishing in last place in the League Two table, and they have been handed the toughest of starts up in the North-East.

Bristol Rovers, who also lost their place in the Football League, will host Grimsby Town, while Halifax Town will travel to newly-promoted Dover Athletic.

Conference North champions AFC Telford United face a trip to Welling United, Conference South winners Eastleigh will play Nuneaton Town, while Altrincham will visit Aldershot Town.

Barnet will begin their campaign with a trip to Chester FC, who were reprieved after the demotion of Hereford United, while Welsh outfit Wrexham travel to Dartford.

Kidderminster Harriers and Southport start at home to Lincoln City and Forest Green Rovers respectively, with Braintree Town visiting Macclesfield Town.

The opening weekend of fixtures is completed with Alfreton Town's home match with Woking.
