Swansea City confirm Michu has joined Napoli on a season-long loan, with an option for the Italian side to buy.

Swansea City have confirmed that Michu will spend the upcoming season on loan at Napoli after the two clubs reached an agreement.

The Spaniard has been expected to make the move to Serie A two years after arriving at the Liberty Stadium.

Michu found the back of the net 22 times in his opening campaign, but struggled last season to repeat that form due to injuries.

The Premier League outfit confirmed on their official Twitter account that an agreement has been made for the 28-year-old to permanently join Rafael Benitez's side after his loan spell.

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis welcomed Michu to the club on Twitter shortly before Swansea made the announcement.
