Swansea City forward Michael Laudrup admits that he must provide Michu with support in attack to help his side progress next season.

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has admitted that he must recruit to help take the pressure off Michu in attack next season.

Michu enjoyed a debut season to remember at the Liberty Stadium, scoring 18 Premier League goals to finish as the club's top scorer.

Laudrup has conceded that he will struggle to find another bargain capture to match Michu's exploits, but reveals that the club have been actively working on their summer transfer targets for some time.

He told the Daily Mail: "We scored 47 this season but I think we can easily add 10 or 12 to that next season. Again, a major part of that is that our goals this season have had the name of one person so we have to split the responsibility of the goals.

"But we have known that for a while and we have been working on it for a long time, we know it is the most difficult thing to get someone to score goals. It's difficult because, firstly, everyone wants players who score goals and secondly they are the most expensive.

"Can we get another Michu? I hope so but it's not easy. There are some out there but other clubs want them as well and we are not financially the most powerful of the 20 clubs in the Premier League. Goals are money and you have to pay. You can't think you can find a top scorer for free. We almost did it last year but you don't win the lottery every time."

The Swans have been linked with a string of forwards in recent months, including persistent rumours of a move for Celta Vigo hitman Iago Aspas.
