Garry Monk admits Swansea City job concerns ahead of must-win Bournemouth clash

Swansea City boss Garry Monk admits that he is flirting with the sack in South Wales.

Garry Monk has admitted he does not need to be told that his Swansea City job could be under serious threat if they lose at home to Bournemouth on Saturday.

Monk's side sit 14th in the Premier League standings after winning just one of their last eight top-flight outings - a 2-1 victory at bottom-of-the-table Aston Villa in October.

"I don't have to speak to anyone to understand my situation. You have to get results and if you don't do that your job comes under threat," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"I don't need anyone to tell me that and no-one has told me that. I'm fully aware how important the game is, but I'll let other people say whether it is [must-win] or not."

Speculation was rife earlier this month that the 36-year-old was on the verge of being sacked, with his reported reluctance to work alongside a director of football doing little to help his cause.

City sit five points clear of safety ahead of the Cherries' visit tomorrow.
