A report claims that Michael Laudrup has brought Garry Monk onto his coaching staff at Swansea City.

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has reportedly appointed Garry Monk to his coaching staff at the Liberty Stadium.

Centre-back Monk has featured just once for the Swans this season due to injuries and Laudrup's preference to use Ashley Williams and Chico Flores at the heart of his defence.

As a result, the 34-year-old has now accepted a coaching role, according to Sky Sports News.

It is not known, though, if the former Barnsley defender has retired in a playing capacity.
