Michael Laudrup hails Roberto Martinez

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup praises the job done by Roberto Martinez at Everton after replacing David Moyes at the Toffees this summer.

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup has hailed the job done by Everton boss Roberto Martinez five months into his reign at Goodison Park.

Martinez replaced David Moyes at the Toffees in the summer and has guided his side to fifth in the Premier League, just four points off leaders Arsenal after 16 games this season.

Laudrup told reporters: "He has done a great job. It is difficult to come into a club who have had the same manager for 11 years.

"In the last 10 years they are also around the top half of the league, and that was with a smaller budget that a lot of teams. So to come in and want to change the way of playing is even more difficult.

"I have watched their last four or five games and they were outstanding against Arsenal at the Emirates. They have kept a lot of their best players and made a huge signing in (Romelu) Lukaku on the final day of the transfer window."

Swansea face Everton in their Premier League clash on Sunday.
