Jan Vertonghen reveals that Tottenham Hotspur would be an ideal club for him when he chooses to leave Ajax.

Jan Vertonghen has revealed that he wants to play in the Premier League and that Tottenham Hotspur would be an ideal club for him.

The Ajax defender has been attracting interest from a number of English clubs this season following another solid campaign for the Dutch giants.

Vertonghen admits that his ambition is the main reason behind his desire to play for a club in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old said: "To play for a team in the Premier League would be amazing and that's what I'm going for.

"I think Tottenham are an amazing club and you can see how well they're doing this season.

"They are in the top three in England and that's where I want to play."

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp was present at Old Trafford last Thursday during Ajax's 2-1 win over Manchester United.
