Tottenham Hotspur 'scouting Fiorentina youngster Riccardo Sottil'

Tottenham Hotspur scout Fiorentina youngster Riccardo Sottil ahead of a potential swoop, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping an eye on Fiorentina youngster Riccardo Sottil with the view to a potential move for the Italy Under-21 international.

The 20-year-old scored once in 12 appearances for Pescara during a loan spell last season before returning to Fiorentina for the 2019-20 campaign.

Sottil has played three times for La Viola in the early stages of the season, and according to The Express, Spurs have been scouting the Italian after being impressed by his development.

The report claims that the Premier League club again plan to watch the youngster in Fiorentina's Serie A clash with Atalanta BC on Sunday, where the alleged target could make his third league appearance of the campaign.

Sottil, who has represented Italy at Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, spent time with Genoa and Torino during his youth career before joining Fiorentina.

Tottenham are currently fifth in the Premier League table following Saturday's 2-1 loss at Leicester City, who secured a late win through James Maddison's long-range strike.
