Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a bid to re-sign Steven Caulker from Cardiff City.

Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker has reportedly emerged as a possible transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur.

Caulker was sold to the Welsh club by Spurs last August despite being a regular in the first team during the 2012-13 season, but his form in this campaign is believed to have caught the eye of his former employers.

Cardiff could be set for a battle to keep the centre-back should they be relegated from the Premier League in May, with Caulker believed to be one of the highest-paid players at the club.

It remains unclear whether Spurs inserted a buy-back clause when they let Caulker leave White Hart Lane, but The Guardian reports that they would consider making a move for the 22-year-old, who joined their academy in 2007.

Current Tottenham head coach Tim Sherwood worked with Caulker in his previous role as youth technical director.
