Roberto Martinez refuses to be drawn on permanent Aaron Lennon deal

Everton manager Roberto Martinez insists that he is not yet thinking about turning Aaron Lennon's loan spell at the club into a permanent one this summer.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has refused to confirm whether or not he will look to bring Aaron Lennon to the club on a permanent basis this summer.

The 28-year-old has impressed since his loan switch from Tottenham Hotspur in the winter transfer window, raising speculation that the Toffees could move to bring him to Goodison Park permanently at the end of the campaign.

However, Martinez is keen to focus solely on the remaining matches this term, with Lennon only eligible for four of the last five outings due to a final-day meeting against his parent club.

"Aaron is enjoying his football and his contribution to the team has been significant. He has got four games left and all I want is for him to enjoy every single second of it and make sure he enjoys the experience as much as we have benefited from his talent," Martinez told reporters.

"Then, at the end of the season, will be the moment to sit down. A loan is a loan and it means that we are looking for a successful outcome out of that.

"Then, when the loan finishes, you have got a three-way conversation to see where that will take us. But the focus now is to see 'Azza' enjoying his football in the next four games."

Everton, who currently sit 12th in the table courtesy of a five-match unbeaten run, next face Manchester United at Goodison on Sunday.
