Sandro backs Andre Villas-Boas

Sandro rallies behind Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas in light of speculation regarding his future at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sandro has said that the players are fully behind manager Andre Villas-Boas amid speculation about his future at White Hart Lane.

The 36-year-old has seen his position with the North London outfit come under much scrutiny as of late, with Spurs failing to secure a victory in any of their previous four Premier League fixtures.

The Portuguese hit back at his detractors in the wake of the 2-2 draw with Manchester United on Sunday but, despite the uncertainty surrounding his tenure at the club, Sandro insists that he has the full backing of the playing staff.

"Everyone likes him," the Brazilian told reporters. "We have to play for him and I think everyone is doing that on the pitch.

"Criticism happens to any coach if you do not win games. He knows we are here and we showed him what we are going to do. I play for him every game. And for the club."

Tottenham remain ninth in England's top flight, three points adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool.

Villas-Boas's men make the short trip to Craven Cottage on Wednesday for a clash with Fulham.
