Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has warned his former club Tottenham Hotspur that Tim Sherwood will not tolerate under-performing players.

The Spurs boss publicly criticised his team for their performance during their 4-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League last weekend.

Then earlier this week, Sherwood claimed that a number of the Tottenham players are "playing for their future".

"I am not surprised to be honest, I know Tim and that is him, what you see is what you get," the Daily Mail quotes Redknapp as saying. "I am not saying it is right, but he is not going to come on and f**** around on things.

"He'll come out and say what he sees and what the fans will see, probably. And he speaks from the heart and that's the way he is. That is what you get with Tim Sherwood, he is not going to come up with all the excuses in the book about why they've played badly or why they've not won.

"If he feels that they've not put it all in, then he will tell you. You get frustrated after a game and it is easily done when you're frustrated and you've been beaten like that."

Tottenham are currently fifth in the league table with 53 points from 29 matches.
