Federico Fazio praises Tottenham Hotspur defensive form

Federico Fazio challenges Tottenham Hotspur to build on their impressive defensive display against Manchester United.

Federico Fazio has urged Tottenham Hotspur to continue replicating the same kind of defensive performance they produced in Sunday's goalless draw with Manchester United.

A stubborn defensive display and a string of impressive saves from Hugo Lloris ensured that Spurs picked up a point against their in-form opponents at White Hart Lane, and Fazio believes that the attitude shown by the players during a hectic schedule has been crucial.

"It was our second game in two days but we finished strongly in the second half," the Argentine told the club's website. "We kept our line high, pressed more and tried to score the one goal to take the three points.

"We fought all the way and we have to keep this intensity, keep this belief and stay compact like this. This attitude is important."

Spurs, who are unbeaten in their last five Premier League games, take on leaders Chelsea on New Year's Day.
