Mousa Dembele searching for best role with Tottenham Hotspur

Mousa Dembele reveals that he wants to discuss his role in Tottenham Hotspur's midfield with manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham Hotspur's Mousa Dembele has admitted that he is keen to speak with Mauricio Pochettino about his role in the club's midfield.

The Belgium international was linked with a move away from White Hart Lane in the summer, but Pochettino stated his desire to keep the 28-year-old at the club.

Dembele has made six appearances for Spurs this season in various roles across the midfield, but was deployed in front of the back four against Liverpool where he had a solid outing in the absence of Eric Dier.

"My best position depends on our tactics and the opposition," Dembele told reporters. "Against Liverpool, there was a lot of space for me because they try to attack. But against teams that sit back, I could be best from the right as I can make a difference.

"Last season, there were also a lot of players in each position and you have to have this if you want to compete with the top teams. It is quite hard to hold down a place.

"It is something that we need to discuss but I will try to impress the manager wherever he plays me. It is something between me and the gaffer that we need to sort out."

Dembele has made 129 appearances in his three years with Tottenham.
