James Ward-Prowse prepared for difficult Ipswich Town challenge

James Ward-Prowse believes that Southampton are in for another tough night when they meet Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse has claimed that he is fully expecting another difficult game against Ipswich Town when the two sides meet in their FA Cup third-round replay on Wednesday.

A 1-1 draw at St Mary's Stadium earlier this month forced Ronald Koeman's side to add a trip to Suffolk to their schedule, and Ward-Prowse believes that the promotion hopefuls will be desperate to upset the Saints, who could welcome some of their fringe players back into the side for the game at Portman Road.

"It is going to be a tough atmosphere and Ipswich are on a high at the moment. It will be a tough place to go," the England Under-21 midfielder told reporters.

"We were all disappointed because it is a game we could, and should, have won. We had a good few chance and were disappointed not to put it to bed.

"All the players we have got in the squad are quality. I have grown up playing with the young lads as well so whoever the manager calls on will be fit and able and good enough to perform."

Southampton's only FA Cup success came in 1976, while their most recent appearance in the final was in 2003.
