Victor Wanyama expecting tough Everton clash

Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama admits that his side will face a difficult challenge when they take on Everton in the Premier League at Goodison Park.

Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama is expecting an extremely tough test when his side travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton.

The Saints are pushing for a spot in the Europa League next season due to their excellent form under Ronald Koeman, while the Toffees have struggled to balance their exploits in Europe and the top flight as they currently sit in 13th place in the table.

However, Wanyama has insisted that his side will have to be at their best to take a positive result from the match on Saturday.

"Everton are a good team and it's going to be a tough game, especially away from home," Wanyama told the club's official website. "Hopefully we can go there and work as hard as possible to get a positive result.

"I think they have struggled a bit because they have had a lot of games to play and it's not easy. It's not easy for them because they were playing in the Europa League, the cups and the Premier League.

"It's a big thing to ask and you need a big squad for that. They have been doing well. They were in the Europa League until recently, they did fantastic in that, but it's because of that maybe they haven't been so consistent in the league."

Southampton are currently sixth in the Premier League, with eight games remaining this season.
